Conciliation of Accounts

If a dispute occurs between a client and a psychologist regarding a professional fee, the client may submit an application for conciliation to the Syndic's Office. You are advised to refer to the Regulation respecting the procedure for conciliation and arbitration of accounts of psychologists (R.Q. c. C-26, r.151.1) for more information, and to section 123.6 of the Professional Code.

If you decide to file an application for conciliation of an account, you must first download, print out and complete the Application for Conciliation of an Account form, then return it to the Syndic's Office of the Order. You can also email or call the Syndic's Office and ask them to mail the form to you.

If conciliation is not possible, the person who submitted the application for conciliation may approach the Order's Secretary to request arbitration. The person will then have to use the Application for Arbitration of an Account form and return it duly completed to the attention of the Order's Executive Office.
